ABSTRACT
Regional Information Center integration
computerizes the Citizen Facility Center and Mandal Web portal is placed for
the interaction with Citizens by providing online application form. The web
portal integrates all the Town offices on a particular district. It reduces the
manual work in offices. The web portal is meant to facilitate citizens by
reducing their efforts. Web portal also acts as a platform for Citizens to
avail information and for the District Office to spread awareness. Using this
facility, office working can be made known to the people hence making the
system transparent.
The
main objectives of this System is
- To provide software support to the district administration and other state government offices.
- It has a facility to be including of various application packages like payroll, tapal, Issuing various certificates.
- Maintain basic citizen details: By maintaining the ration card system maintains the basic citizen information in the centralized database.
- Maintain official document transaction details: The documents which are manually moved within the office is tracked and stored in DB.
- Web portal: Provide web portal for interaction between citizen and government office (TSO and CFC)
- Using the web portal, awareness about the government office working is made know to citizens.
- Make the citizens aware of the various schemes related to the central and state government.
- Information regarding acquiring certificate or ration card is also provided.
- The lists of certificates one can acquire online are: Cast Certificates (OBC, SC/ST), Domicile, BPL, Death, Birth, Nationality, Income, Ration card Affidavit etc.
- Status of the document: Citizens can view the processing status of their application form.
- Maintain Certificate data: Information regarding what all certificates is acquired and their expiry dates will be maintained.
- Report: Reports
regarding certificate and ration card will be provided to all the
higher level officers.
SCOPE
Ø Maintaining
and Keeping general information of the civilians.
Ø The
procedure of issuing ration card is made transparent and the processing time
along with the complexity is reduced.
Ø Working
is made easy for the Mandal Revenue Office in subject to validating and
maintaining received documents.
Ø Tracking
of Civilian information in a state level situation is made easy.
Ø Keeping
track of the documents, those are submitted by the civilians.
Ø Citizens
can request online services like certificates, ration card.
Ø Create
different system users and assign different role with related permissions.
Ø Manage
all the account details such as user name, department, phone numbers, address,
websites, email ID of all the users from one central location.
OUT
OF SCOPE
Ø Providing Communication between Citizen’s and Employees through
Email and chat.
Ø Not to implement the complete functionalities for a collector
because it’s a tedious job.
Ø Not to concentrate on Land reforms and Revenue collections etc.
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION
- Database connection can be switched to MS SQL Server-2005 are above.
- User authentications through a Role Based which can be used to cross check the User credentials.
- The Reports can be generated for the History data like Issued Ration Cards, and Issued certificates.
PROBLEMS
IN THE EXISTING SYSTEM
- The existing system is a manual system. Here the User of the system needs to save his information in the form of excel sheets or Disk Drives.
- There is no sharing is possible if the data is in the form of paper or Disk drives.
- The manual system gives us very less security for saving data; some data may be lost due to mismanagement.
- It’s a limited system and fewer users friendly.
- Searching of particular information is very critical it takes lot of time.
- The users cannot able to restrict the information sharing options.
- The users only know his information only not others.
- It is very critical to share public information to all users.
SOLUTION
OF THESE PROBLEMS
The development of this new system contains the following
activities, which try to automate the entire process keeping in the view of
database integration approach.
- User Friendliness is provided in the application with various controls provided by system Rich User Interface.
- The system makes the overall project management much easier and flexible.
- It can be accessed over the Intranet.
- Various classes have been used for file uploading and down loading.
- The user information files can be stored in centralized database which can be maintained by the system.
- This can give the good security for user information because data is not in client machine.
- Authentication is provided for this application only registered users can access.
- User can share is data to others, and also he can get data from others.
- There is no risk of data management at any level while the project development is under process
